Basement is a short film released in 2021 which follows Calvin, a young father who has been unable to see his child since his imprisonment for burglary. When his wife gives him the chance to pay his child support and see his son, he resorts to the only method he knows to make money, but when he gets trapped in the basement of the house he has broken into he must find a way out of risk losing his freedom.

Working as the director of this film presented me with a series of challenges, as a film with a single character set in a single location I had to find new ways to tell a story as well as interesting ways to show that story on screen. Overall, by working with an incredibly talented cast and crew, we were able to bring such a complicated yet simple story to life in all its glory.
